Holiday farm Schraevenacker
Staying here means enjoying a restful and warm-hearted stay in the Yser Plain. The farm belonged to 3 generations of the Van Eecke family, which are represented by the 3 oaks planted in the meadow near the farm. Confidently, Hugo passed the torch to us: Karen Vandenberghe, David Devos and our sons Jarne and Lars.
The name Schraevenacker is derived from “akker des graven” (field of the counts). The name probably dates back from the time when there was a castle in Oostvleteren and its countess owned a lot of farmland.
Schraevenacker is an oasis of calm in the valley of the Yser, an area with plenty of hiking, biking and horseriding trails. Children get the chance to get acquainted with farm life and pony or horseriding. We also offer the possibility to stable your own horses and we have an outdoor arena which you can use freely.
Ou Our holiday farm is located at a stone's throw away from Poperinge, known as the hops region, from the cities Yper and Diksmuide with their war history, from the Flanders Fields Museum in Yper, at 100m of animal park "De Zonnegloed" and at only 20 km from the coast.
